Position description

This "Inside Sales” position is the first point of contact to a customer. The benefit advisor receives inbound inquiries from employees and non-employer affiliated consumers in the marketplace who need help in selecting a Health Benefits package. Using a consultative approach the benefit advisor will qualify the customer and facilitate the application of the appropriate health insurance plan.


The benefit advisor will assist the customer throughout the sales process with ongoing communication and actions taken on behalf of the customer, until a final policy issuance decision is made by the carrier.


  • Flexible schedule – 30-40 hours per week (Monday – Friday, 7am – 7pm).
  • All leads come to you from individuals looking for your help. No cold calling.
  • Work from a comfortable office environment, or possibly work from home.
  • No door-to-door sales.
  • Extensive training is provided.
  • Possibility of regular full-time employment.

Requirements

  • Utah Life and Health License is required, we will provide help and instruction to obtain.
  • Professional, courteous demeanor.
  • The understanding and ability to work with a mostly Senior population.
  • Availability to work a minimum of 30 hours per week from 9/1/08 through 12/31/08 during pre-determined, designated hours.
  • Good understanding of Microsoft Office and the ability to easily learn new software programs.
  • High school diploma, or equivalent.
  • Previous life/health insurance experience a plus.
  • Previous sales experience highly preferred.
